Now, I'm sure that there are some deep ass lyrics that I'm just sitting there going "WTF?" purely due to my own shallowicity (Shallocity? Undeeptitude?) but I got news for you that I don't think is really news to you. Some of these dipshits, notwithstanding that they make the equivalent of my annual salary for one concert, are not really that deep. What they are is experts at writing deep sounding shit for people to wax philosophical on when they/re riding the blunt train. One exception? Counting Crows. That fucker is deep!
