I can't excuse the Henny and Cognac argument...to sit up and say that you don't serve two particular types of liquor, like the rest don't make you do the same thing is kinda ridiculous. However, I still stick by the hat argument... If I have an establishment in a spot of town that has a certain, understood reputation, then I am going to make you take that hat off...period. If you come up in this joint starting some drama, then you need to know full well that I am going to ID you to a T. If that is racial, so be it. That is like me saying, I own a grocery store in the worst area of town...and it just so happens that alot of Black people live there. And so I have some bulletproof glass in there as a precaution. Then someone comes and says that I did it because we are in a Black neighborhood. I don't care why the hell I did it...two tears in a bucket. That bulletproof glass is protecting me from all bullets...whether they come from a white person or a Black person... My point with the hat was, if someone was coming into that joint with their hat all down in their face (as I was at the time) and I was in a high crime area, then I need to see faces. That is not too big of an inconvenience. And by the way, everyone took off their hats...not just us. So it is not the exact same as the Henny and Coke situation...sorry for my late response... I have been there only once to pick up some take-out and YES f'n security asked me to take my hat off. My initial reaction was to question this 6'5" 279lb brother, but then I realized that despite the fact that Applebee's is about as classy as TGI Friday's or Ruby Tuesday's, homeboy had a job to do and I'm sure ninja's less sophisticated than myself wild out on a daily basis up in that piece.
