2. I think that Mobb took a lot of shit when Jay crushed their asses on The Takeover. Why? Well, didn't Prodigy get robbed for his chain twice in his own damn hood? If that is true then I think the same nigga/s that took his chain was/were clowning Mobb Deep.

@Harold,
I was quick to say, "No dis nigga di'int" about your Vol 3.> Blueprint... but before I do that I will have to listen to Vol. 3 before I jump to conclusions.

- I think Jay's first verse on "Renegade" is the best one in the song, though I agree with Johnny Qwest that Jay painting himself as a rebel is frickin' laughable. Coincidentally, I've been listening to that jam in my car the past 4 days. Jay's 2nd verse is blah. Em had an overall better performance.

- The Cross "garbage"? I know why you think that. Em definitely would not have murdered issh though. Talk about his "ear for beats" or what have you, do not go there on lyrical prowess. Nas is unmatched. The second verse on "The Cross" is one that 9/10 couldn't even repeat on tempo. It took me about 2 weeks of trying.

- "Song Cry" is one of the best tracks on the album. He actually says something artful/substantial, which is a big accomplishment for Mr. Hova. The nicka built his rep braggin' and bashin' women- let's call it what it is.

- You only remember "jabs" from "Ether"? Hmmm...dissed Nas in 1 verse- maybe. Nas summed up ya boy's whole effin' career in a couple bars: "you seem to be only concerned wit dissin' women," "what's sad is your my brother/you traded your soul for riches." Did not Jay admit this himself on "Moment of Clarity" (2nd verse)?

- Finally, I'll never forgive Jay for "1 was ahh/the other was Illmatic." = pure, unadulterated horse feces. It Was Written was dope. I Am was heavily slept on. Jigga goes to sleep at night and wishes he could write "Undying Love."

- Finally finally, Vol. 3 might be a better album than BluePrint.

I'm done now.

I thought I was the only one who never really cared for Song Cry. LOL and im a woman.

No Amil looks like on of those long haired dogs with the long nose. I cant think of the name. Shes Un-Pretty.

Over all im a lil Jayed out. I dont know whats happening to me but lately i have been finding his voice incredibly annoying. I know i may be stoned for this (and im a Brooklynite ya'll) but i had all i can stands and i cant stands no more.

now being that i have such a strong allegiance to jay and this album in particular, you know i had to throw in my two.

first, i think jay's problems were topical, not lyrical. even though i'm no lyricist, my guess is that it would be tremendously easy to write quality material about something with which you're familiar. yes, em murdered jay on jay's shit, as escobar so eloquently eluded, but he murdered jay rapping about the same antihero, antiestablishment shit that he's rapped about on all of his own subpar, underachieving albums.

i don't know, maybe it's just me, but i certainly wouldn't classify jay as a renegade in any respect of the word. by his own admission, he brought the suburbs to the hood; every since hardnock life, jay has been accepted, before then, he was simply irrelevant to the mtv masses. in my opinion, renegade was too much of a stretch for him...he's no societal outkast, he's jay. renegades don't meet presidents and have dinner with bill gates. now, if eminem could outshine jay on friend or foe, bring it on (where jay decimates sauce and jaz-o) or reservoir dogs (jay crushes the lox and beanie), then i would be impressed. To me, it's like slick rick deciding to make some militant us against the white devilz shit featuring pre-hollywood ice cube and wondering why the ruler can't hang. sometimes, you gotta stick to your strenfs.

secondly, (and i know this is getting long), sometimes a dude might have the jermain taylor advantage...he just has your number. early nineties com sense was one of the illest, period. yet, on making a name for ourselves, canibus, a severely limited emcee, OBLITERATES mr. lonnie rashid lynn. does it matter that the track, Hungry, is one of the nicest battle rhyme tracks ever? no, it doesn't...i mean bus is talking about bein an animal with a mechanical mandible and the best com could muster is i hold mikes while you hold spite. yeah, dude just got done. it happens to the best of 'em...
