I listened to The Low End Theory last week, start to finish and I’m sorry. It just isn’t as good. I’ll admit, 8 Million Stories isn’t the best joint. And no it might not be better than anything on Low End, but as a whole…MM is a better listening experience.

@MONK: Yeah, like I said though, numbers 2-10 really are like #3 to me. They all tie for 3rd place. But I had to pick an order becaue people respond better to that. Plus, my choices for top 5 get more burn than Death Certificate, which gets MUCH burn, so you can imagine how much I listen to the other stuff.

“Midnight Marauders” is classic…slightly better than ATCQ’s “Low End Theory”. “Bust off on your couch, now you got Semen funiture”…CLASSIC!

On “Thought Process”, Dre showed his ass and put any doubts that he wasn’t one of the best in the game to rest. And, when they took the beat out and he continued with just the hand claps….WHEEEWWWW!! I gotta go listen to that right now…

Low End Theory is a better album from start to finish, song for song than Midnight Marauders! P E R I O D!

case in point…u mean to tell me among the two songs that Phife is a featured soloist on each album that “8 Million Stories” is better than “Butter”?

given a choice between Parkay or margarine, i’m pickin’ “Butter”, strictly butter baby.

i’ve listened to both albums, have both albums and practically studied ‘em…Low End Theory gets the nod. not by a wide margin, but there are songs on Marauders that get the “SKIP” button. i think i’ve listened to “Midnight”, “We Can Get Down” and “God Lives Through” completely only once – maybe twice! but i can’t quote not 1 line from ‘em.

i can quote a line from every song on Low End Theory. even dumb ass songs like “Skypager” and “What?”.

and this is how far i’ll go with it, just to let u know how so sincerre i’m is…

once Low End Theory was released, there wasn’t another rap/hip-hop album out that could touch it production wise from end to end until…

…dare i say…

read it again…don’t say NWA’s “EFIL4ZAGGIN”, cuz that came out b’fo Low End Theory. so did “Death Certificate”. OutKast’s 1st album came out in the ’94. Even the beloved “De La Soul is Dead” – which i’m sure will find its way on this list – was released prior to Low End Theory.

there wasn’t another rap/hip-hop album who’s production was better…i can’t think of nothin’ else cuz those albums weren’t that good!

Low End Theory is one of the few albums that got the trifecta…meaning i bought cassette, CD and vinyl! Marauders got the trifecta also…but still, strictly butter baby!
