Common Sense (street smart) + Book Smart (academic education) + Wisdom (learning from experience and life) = Intelligence…That’s alway’s been my equation. An ‘intelligent’ person also is constantly striving to learn more because you can NEVER know ENOUGH. Our president has degrees from what some would consider the BEST schools in our country, BUT he still is just DUMB to me. HOWEVER, he’s the leader (so to say) of our country. So what does that say about the constituents?

I have always considered intelligence as the ability to recognize what you DON’T know. Being aware of these things always keeps you hungry. Makes you want to go out and learn as much as you can. Instead of intelligent, I like to refer to myself as an academic because I always want to learn about the stuff I don’t know much about.

Stupidity is the inablilty to learn from your mistakes. PERIOD. We all make mistakes. None of us know everything. But when you embarass yourself by misuing that big word, learn HOW to use that word or DON’T USE IT AGAIN! Seriously. I get blue in the face talking to idiots who repeatedly make the same mistakes.

I have to admit, I consider myself to be a pretty intelligent person however, common damn sense sometimes evades me. I often take the hard road instead of the easy one and i have to agree with Xquizzyt1, I blame it on furthering my education. I am the “dumb blond” among my friends. lol

btw Panama how much do i have to pay u for the slogan “BET doesnt care about black people”? Im thinking of making my t-shirt and wearing it to all the celebrity filled clubs in NYC.

Well, well, well. This is something i live with everyday. My precious daughter, an A student and captain of one of the top ten high school debate teams in the country often baffles me with her stupidity.

One day, she called me from the bathroom of a photographer’s studio in tears because the photographer asked her to go into the bathroom, take off her shirt and put on the drape (she was taking her senior portrait). Well, she was in tears because if she took her shirt off and put on the off-the-shoulder drape, he bra strap would show.

It NEVER occurred to her that she could just slide the straps down, ot put them under her arms while she took the picture. When i suggested this to her, I could hear the lightbulb flickering over her head. It just NEVER occurred to her.

I spent the entire afternoon wondering how i raised such a dufus.

While I am a huge proponent for my own intelligence… I mean I will tell you I’m brilliant in a heartbeat (tongue-in-cheek of course)… LOL I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY that education does NOT preclude dumb-th. LOL In fact, I would like to do a study with the hypothesis being that education may actually make a dumb person even MORE ignorant because now, with the guise of education, they are even FURTHER unaware of their stupidity thereby increasing their level of ignorance. *shaking head*

There are too many examples to list and we’ve ALL been privy to dumb shit… but yeah, the toot-your-own-horn-thing notwithstanding… cuz I’ll do that in a heartbeat (tongue in cheek)… I completely and wholeheartedly agree. As usual. =)
