BET used to be for the thinking. Remember Lead Story with Bev Smith? That was a great debate discussion show. We used to kinda hate on Donnie Simpson back in the day but the interviews he conducted on Video Soul were 200 times better that the crap they do on 106&park. And Video LP used to show all the new videos. And they let the viewers decide what would stay and what would go with a call in segment called “kiss or diss”. And remember when they used to have the news breaks at the top of the hour. BET lost it’s appeal when it moved form D.C.

OMG… if you watch Laguna Beach… I’ll die. (and then maybe I’ll come out of hiding about my viewership?? YIKES… LOL)and if you say that was a joke… I’ll die too (and go back into hiding). ROFLMAO

While your rants are always wildly entertaining, they are also so very on point. [Did you see the episode where Stephen gave Valentine's Day flowers to Lauren/LC AND Kristin!!!??? The NERVE!] Yeah… BET is CLEARLY the bane of the black person’s existence and I personally avoid it at all costs. [OMG Can you BELIEVE that Jason is with MORGAN now??? He completely dogged Jessica out... but she deserves it... if for no other reason than being DUMB!] *ahem…sigh* and that’s such a shame… a shame indeed.

first off…laguna beach is the shit…just had to clear that up.
Second, this country is racist as hell, BET can’t get advertising dollars if they put intelligent black people on TV, because it will be miscontrued as them trying to be white. Smart “white acting” black folks, more scary than ignorant ones. Mexican people get more respect in the media than us.
Third, can’t wait to become a super hollywood movie actor/producer so that I can veto all things stupid.

This is why BET is so dangerous. I hope you get 1000 comments (exaggerating) and send this to the powers that be. If nothing else, BET should be forced to change its name. It does NOT represent Blacks (at least those who read like you said). It represents the base of society, all the ish you try to find when you DON’T want to think.

I might have to check this Laguna Beach show out. And I know you aren’t disappointed in BET. BET is gonna keep on being what it was–crap. Just when you think they can’t stoop any lower they do. BET is not only for non-reading darkies, it’s for white people too. And a lot of the white people watching are most comfortable when all of the images fit into a certain box. What box is that? It sure isn’t the one labeled: “Blacks/African Americans/Negros, Niggers/Niggas/Darkies Who Read Good”
