I just want to say that that was pretty bad. I have had many experiences where I give an answer to someone that does not apply.

Por ejemplo, when people say Happy Birthday and I say you too. lol

Or when someone says “Hey, how are you?” and I respond, “Hey, how are you?” Clearly, my responses are voiced generically. (Was that a word? hmmm…it is today.)

However, your generic response to the homeless man takes the cake. I am sure he heard you…he probably cussed you as soon as you walked away.
